VP Travel Report #1 -San Diego/America's Marines250 event Hi -- this is Mario Parker, your print pooler for Vice President JD Vance's trip to San Diego and Camp Pendleton for America's Marines250 event on Saturday. Marine 2 landed at JBA at 4:54pm EST on Friday evening. Vice President Vance was joined by Second Lady Usha Vance and their three young children. The second lady wore a sweater, adorned with the American flag. Their two eldest children sprinted aboard AF2 while the Vice President carried their youngest aboard the plane. He gave a wave to the press, who had asked him to come over for a couple questions. They were all boarded by 5:01pm. It's a roughly five-hour flight from JBA to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, roughly 15 miles north of San Diego, California. We will be wheels up shortly. |

VP Travel Pool Report #2-San Diego Air Force Two landed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar at 6:54pm local. It was a scenic, yet uneventful flight. The family deplaned at 7:10pm. The Second Lady and the Vance’s two eldest children deplaned just ahead of the vice president, who was carrying their youngest in tow. The second lady’s parents greeted the family at the bottom of the stairs from the plane, excitedly hugging their grandchildren The vice president’s motorcade started rolling at 7:14pm. Along the route, the motorcade passed parked fighter jets and stacks of missiles. The motorcade dropped Vice President Vance and his family at their RON at 8:10pm. He doesn’t have any public events on his schedule for this evening. Your pooler will pick back up tomorrow as the vice president’s attends the America's Marines250 event at Camp Pendleton. |
