Vice Presidential Pool Reports of June 20, 2025

VP Pool #1

Good afternoon, I'll be your print pooler for the Vice President's trip to Los Angeles today, where he is scheduled to tour a multi-agency Federal Joint Operations Center, a Federal Mobile Command Center, meet with leadership and Marines, and deliver brief remarks.

VP arrived at JBA and boarded Air Force Two at 11:35 without taking questions. Flight is expected to be about five hours.

Pool is boarding and we are wheels up momentarily.

VP Pool #2

Air Force Two landed at Los Angeles International Airport about 1:35 pm PT. VP did not take questions. We're rolling to our first stop - the Federal Building Command Center, an FBI Mobile Command Center that ICE is currently using.

VP Pool #3

Arrived at the command center at 2pm PT. VP will be greeted and given a tour of the FBI Mobile Command Center and Building by Akil Davis, FBI Los Angeles Assistant Director.

Press is told we're not allowed in the command center due to classified information in there. It's a Federal Joint Operations Center where 14 different federal agencies are coordinating the situation here in LA.

VP Vance will be talking with DOD, DEA, DHS, ICE and local LA PD and CA highway patrol, according to his team. He'll receive a briefing from each of these organizations on how they are all working together.

We're currently holding in the van.

VP's remarks are slated to begin around 3pm PST / 6pm EST here at the command center.

VP Pool #5

VP's remarks are slated to begin around VP's presser concluded about 3:25 PT. He argued that the governor of California and mayor of LA are failing to support law enforcement and putting law enforcement at risk. He also said the law enforcement and military he spoke with today all expressed serious concerns about the lack of state support. The event was carried live.

Rolling from RNC Summer Retreat to the airport. We held in a side room throughout and did not see the VP.

Of note: Governor Newsom has been tweeting at the vice president for the last few hours, including to criticize VP for calling Alex Padilla, "Jose Padilla."

Arrived at Air Force Two at 6:05 pm PT, VP got straight on the plane and did not take questions. We will be wheels up momentarily.

Air Force Two arrived back in Washington at 1:40 a.m. after a quiet flight. And that's a wrap on the vice president's trip to LA this weekend. Goodnight!
