Statement by the Press Secretary: President Signs H.R. 866, H.R. 2808, S. 1773 and S. 2784
On Wednesday, September 27, 2006 the President signed into law:
H.R. 866, which makes technical corrections to several titles of the United States Code;
H.R.2808, the "Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Coin Act," which requires Treasury to mint coins in commemoration of the bicentennial of the birth of Abraham Lincoln;
S. 1773, the "Pueblo de San Ildefonso Claims Settlement Act of 2005," which approves and ratifies a Settlement Agreement entered into by the Federal Government and the Pueblo de San Ildefonso to resolve the Pueblo's outstanding land claims against the Federal Government; approves and ratifies the Los Alamos Agreement among Los Alamos County, the Federal Government, and the Pueblo de San Ildefonso; authorizes and directs the Secretary of Agriculture to sell and convey specified National Forest System land as part of the Agreements; and provides additional authorities related to implementing the Settlements; and
S. 2784, the "Fourteenth Dalai Lama Congressional Gold Medal Act," which provides for the presentation of a Congressional Gold Medal to the Dalai Lama.
