Statement by the Press Secretary: President Bush Signs H.R. 137, H.R. 727, and H.R. 1130
On May 3, 2007, the President signed into law:
H.R. 137, the "Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act of 2007," which increases penalties for crimes related to animal fighting ventures and prohibits interstate commerce in sharp objects intended to be attached to the leg of a bird for use in an animal fighting venture;
H.R. 727, the "Trauma Care Systems Planning and Development Act of 2007," which authorizes appropriations and makes changes to the Department of Health and Human Services' Trauma/Emergency Medical Services Systems State grant program; and
H.R. 1130, the "Judicial Disclosure Responsibility Act," which restores and extends the authority to redact certain sensitive information from financial disclosure reports of judges or judicial employees.
