Statement by the Press Secretary on H.R. 1925

October 10, 2003

On Friday, October 10, 2003, the President signed into law:

H.R. 1925, the "Runaway, Homeless, and Missing Children Protection Act" which reauthorizes and makes changes to the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act, under which food, shelter, clothing, and education services are provided to homeless and runaway youth; and extends the authorization for the Missing Children's Assistance Act, which supports efforts to located and recover missing and exploited children;

H.R. 2826, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1000 Avenida Sanchez Osorio in Carolina, Puerto Rico, as the "Roberto Clemente Walker Post Office Building; and

S. 570, which changes the eligibility requirements for students in nonprofit and public foreign veterinary schools and Canadian medical schools to qualify for certain financial assistance programs.
