Statement on French Honors to Ambassador Myron T. Herrick.

THE PRESIDENT said:

"A very great honor and courtesy have been shown by France to the United States in the arrangements they have made for the return of the body of a most distinguished American citizen--Ambassador Herrick.

"I have asked the Navy to make arrangements for a reception fitting to Ambassador Herrick's great public service and the feeling that I know our people have entertained toward him."
