STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY

(House Rules)
(Sen. Curtis, R-UT, and 5 cosponsors)

The Administration strongly supports passage of S.J. Res. 31, which would disapprove the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) relating to "Review of Final Rule Reclassification of Major Sources as Area Sources Under Section 112 of the Clean Air Act."

The rule unnecessarily imposes significant costs on industry each year, hindering economic progress. The Administration is committed to reducing regulatory burdens on American businesses, and the previous Administration's rule is yet another example of government overreach harming American manufacturers, energy producers, and small businesses. The Trump Administration refuses to punish businesses' success or discourage American innovation.

For these reasons, if S.J. Res. 31 were presented to the President in its current form, his advisors would recommend that he sign it into law.
