Statement of Administration Policy: Senate Amendment to H.Con. Res. 14 - Concurrent Resolution Establishing the Congressional Budget for the United States Government for Fiscal Year 2025 and Setting Forth the Appropriate Budgetary Levels for Fiscal Years 2026 Through 2034
STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY
(House)
The Administration strongly supports the Senate Amendment to H.Con. Res. 14, the resolution entitled "Concurrent resolution establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034." This budget resolution is a critical step in advancing President Trump's priorities through the budget reconciliation process. It allows President Trump to make his historic 2017 tax cuts permanent and expand upon those cuts with additional tax relief to grow the economy and support American businesses and the working class. The resolution would ensure that President Trump is provided with the resources needed to reverse the deadly effects of President Biden's illegal open border policies while strengthening national security through key military investments. The resolution also provides a path to advance other key Administration priorities such as American energy dominance. Finally, President Trump has demonstrated through numerous concrete actions his firm commitment to cutting wasteful spending. This resolution aligns with his mission by paving the way for historic spending cuts to root out rampant waste, fraud, and abuse across the Federal Government, while responsibly addressing the debt extension.
The Administration is committed to working closely with both the House and the Senate to help them pass the budget reconciliation bill the American people were promised. To do so, the Congress must unify and pass this budget resolution immediately. There is no time for delay.
