Statement of Administration Policy: H.R. 3564 - Middle Class Borrower Protection Act of 2023

June 23, 2023

STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY

(House)
(Rep. Davidson, R-OH, and 13 cosponsors)

The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 3564. The bill would inhibit the Federal Housing Finance Agency's ability to respond to changing housing market conditions and diminish the agency's ability to ensure the safety and soundness of the government-sponsored enterprises. H.R. 3564 would also impose new restrictions on the Federal Housing Finance Agency's authority that would make it difficult to serve low-and moderate-income households and rural communities, in addition to promoting affordable housing preservation and manufactured housing.
