September 17, 1987
(House)
(Fascell (D) Florida and one other)
The administration has no objection to House passage of H.R. 3251 but will seek amendments in the Senate to:
— Require the Treasury to reimburse the National Defense Stockpile Transaction Fund for silver used in the production of the one-dollar commemorative coins;
— Delete the provision of the bill that requires the five-dollar gold coins to be produced at the Mint's West Point facility; and
— Make other minor and technical changes.
