Statement of Administration Policy: H.R. 26 - Protecting American Energy Production Act
STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY
(House)
(Rep. Pfluger, R-TX, and 17 cosponsors)
The Administration strongly supports House passage of H.R. 26, the Protecting American Energy Production Act, which would prohibit any Federal moratorium on the use of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) unless Congress authorizes the moratorium. Fracking has had a transformative impact on the U.S. economy and the oil and gas sector, positioning the United States as one of the world's leading producers of natural gas and oil. Fracking has unlocked vast reserves of previously inaccessible hydrocarbons, leading to increased domestic production and reduced reliance on foreign energy sources. This surge in supply has contributed to lower energy prices for consumers, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for Americans. This Administration will continue to put America First and will guard United States national security through energy independence. For these reasons, the Administration strongly supports House passage of H.R. 26.
If H.R. 26 were presented to the President in its current form, his advisors would recommend he sign it into law.
