Romney Campaign Press Release - Governor Mitt Romney Picks Up More Georgia Legislative Endorsements

Boston, MA – Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced that two more Georgia state legislators have endorsed his campaign for President of the United States. State Representatives Jeff Lewis and Edward Lindsey announced they will join the Romney team in Georgia to help organize grassroots efforts and communicate Governor Romney's message of conservative change in Washington.

Announcing these new endorsements, Governor Romney said, 'I am pleased to have Rep. Lewis and Rep. Lindsey join our Georgia team. We are building a strong team statewide. Their hard work and leadership will be critical to a successful campaign in Georgia.'

These legislators join U.S. Congressmen Tom Price and Phil Gingrey, and Speaker Pro Tempore Mark Burkhalter in their support of Governor Romney. Cobb County Commission Chairman Sam Olens, along with State Reps. David Casas, Brooks Coleman, Jan Jones, Chuck Martin, Fran Millar, and Bob Smith have also endorsed Governor Romney's campaign.

Background On State Legislators:


State Representative Jeff Lewis – Rep. Lewis is the Chair of the House Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee. Lewis has represented the 15th District in the Georgia House of Representatives for seven terms and also serves as Chair of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Income Tax issues and legislation. He is a self-employed small businessman, having built a successful advertising and real estate management business.

State Representative Edward Lindsey – Rep. Lindsey represents the 54th District and serves as Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and Chair of the Education Subcommittee on Charter Schools. In addition to Judiciary and Education, Lindsey also holds membership positions on the House Ways and Means and Industrial Relations Committees. He also serves as a Republican Deputy Whip. An entrepreneur and lawyer, Lindsey started a business creating jobs for more than 50 people in Buckhead.
