The Vice President underscored the strength of the U.S.-Australia Alliance and the importance of our deep cooperation on a range of issues. The Vice President and the Prime Minister discussed developments throughout the Indo-Pacific, including our shared efforts to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific and our work through the Quad to advance our common vision. The Vice President and the Prime Minister discussed steps to address the climate crisis, including domestic developments in each country that demonstrate our leadership on this pressing challenge, and pledged to accelerate action. The Vice President highlighted the historic investments the Biden-Harris Administration is making through the Inflation Reduction Act, and ongoing efforts to boost manufacturing, innovation, clean technology, and good-paying jobs.
