Readout of President Donald J. Trump's Meeting with African Leaders

President Donald J. Trump yesterday hosted a working luncheon in New York with the leaders of Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, and Uganda to discuss how the United States and Africa can work toward prosperity and peace. They discussed a pragmatic strategy to focus on security, infrastructure, economic, and other common interests. The leaders expressed wide enthusiasm that this approach will reduce opportunities for terrorism and increase the possibility for job growth among Africans and Americans. They also addressed other global challenges, including the threat from North Korea.
