September 08, 2016

The President today made additional disaster assistance available to the State of Louisiana by authorizing an increase in the level of federal funding for Public Assistance projects undertaken in the State of Louisiana as a result of severe storms and flooding during the period of August 11-31, 2016.

Under the President's major disaster declaration issued for the State of Louisiana on August 14, 2016, federal funding was made available for Public Assistance, Other Needs Assistance and Hazard Mitigation at 75 percent federal funding of total eligible costs.

Under the President's order today, the federal share for Public Assistance has been increased to 90 percent of the total eligible costs. This announcement is another step in the Administration's ongoing response to the flooding in Louisiana.
