President Donald J. Trump Signs H.R. 381, H.R. 699, H.R. 863, H.R. 2142, H.R. 2228, and H.R. 2331 into Law
On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, the President signed into law:
H.R. 381, which designates a mountain in the Sierra National Forest in the State of California as Sky Point;
H.R. 699, the " Mount Hood Cooper Spur Land Exchange Clarification Act," which amends current law relating to certain land exchanges in the Mt. Hood Wilderness in the State of Oregon;
H.R. 863, which amends current law relating to the Coltsville National Historical Park;
H.R. 2142, the "Interrnational Narcotics Trafficking Emergency Response by Detecting Incoming Contraband with Technology Act or the INTERDICT Act," which requires U.S. Customs and Border Protection to: increase the number of chemical screening devices used to interdict fentanyl and other narcotics illegally imported into the United States; and dedicate the appropriate number of personnel to interpret data collected by such devices;
H.R. 2228, the "Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act of 2017," which requires the Justice Department to submit a report to Congress on mental health services and practices that could be adopted by Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies; and allows the use of grant funds under the Community Oriented Policing Services program to establish peer mentoring mental health and wellness pilot programs within State, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies; and
H.R. 2331, the "Connected Government Act," which requires new or updated Federal websites intended for use by the public to be mobile friendly.
