President Donald J. Trump Signs H.R. 1551, S. 2269, S. 3354, S. 3508 and S. 3509 into Law
H.R. 1551, the "Orrin G. Hatch-Bob Goodlatte Music Modernization Act," which creates a compulsory blanket licensing system for music recordings, updates the rate standards applicable to music licensing, provides copyright royalties to pre-1972 artists, and provides compensation to producers, mixers, and sound engineers;
S. 2269, the "Global Food Security Reauthorization Act of 2017," which extends authorities of the Global Food Security Act of 2016;
S. 3354, the "Missing Children's Assistance Act of 2018," which reauthorizes, through fiscal year 2023, the Justice Department's grants related to missing children, including the grant to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children;
S. 3508, the "Save Our Seas Act of 2018," which reauthorizes the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Marine Debris Program through fiscal year 2022; promotes international action to reduce marine debris; strengthens certain Coast Guard requirements to promote safety in the maritime industry; and authorizes the establishment of a Coast Guard Blue Technology center of expertise; and
S. 3509, the "Congressional Award Program Reauthorization Act of 2018," which retroactively reauthorizes the Congressional Award Board, effective October 1, 2018, until October 1, 2023, which administers the Congressional Awards Program to recognize the achievements of young people.
