report 1 — motorcade waiting

Good morning from the nation's capital, where we're enjoying the eighth straight day of perfect early autumn weather.

Pool has been loaded into the press vans and are waiting for the motorcade to leave the south lawn driveway.

report 2 — motorcade underway

At 0852 the president came out the South Portico entrance and walked the 20 or so feet into his waiting SUV.

Pool photographers had a narrow view from about 100 yards away between his SUV and the one behind it through which to get earn their keep.

At 0853 the motorcade is moving.

report 3 — arrival at Trump's golf course

The motorcade pulled into the president's golf course in Sterling, Virginia at 0925 following the 26 mile drive along closed off streets and expressways.

Only two men at the entrance, both holding pro-Trump signs.

Pool had a fraction of a second glimpse of him as he walked to his SUV — he was wearing a white baseball cap, black windbreaker and what appeared to be a white golf shirt underneath — and none upon arrival at the golf course.

Pool was escorted to a hold at the tennis courts.

For those wondering/asking -- pool has no visibility onto the golf course from our location at the tennis courts. We can, however, see a number of players (country club members and/or their guests, presumably) on the outdoor clay courts.

Today is the president's 21st day in his second term he has spent at his Sterling, Virginia, course to play golf (he has also come to promote his personal crypto business and to raise campaign money.)

In total, he has visited golf courses he owns on 66 of the 225 days of this term, meaning he has played golf at his courses on 29.3 percent of his days since Jan. 20.

Pool still holding.

report 5 - back in vans

At 1411 pool loaded back into the press vans to get positioned into the motorcade.

report 6 — leaving golf course

The president was back in his SUV at 1504 after 5.5 hrs at his golf course. 

At 1505 the motorcade is rolling. 

Photogs report he waved at press vans as he passed where we were parked.

report 7 — back at WH and lid

The president's motorcade pulled onto the South Lawn driveway at 1537 after a routine drive back along roads and highways again closed to other traffic in our direction. 

Pool caught the briefest glimpse of the president stepping out of the SUV at 1538 as the press vans came to a halt. 

The pro-Trump contingent had grown to about 20 supporters on the sidewalk just outside his golf course as we departed there. Pool did not notice any protesters. 

White House press announced a lid for the day at 1539.
