In-town note 1: Vance briefly in briefing room

At approximately 1010 your pooler and others noticed VP Vance in the briefing room giving a tour to an unidentified senior citizen who briefly stood behind the press secretary's lectern. 

He noted that the room is smaller than it looks on TV and asked her what she thought of the shutdown and she replied: "I can't say it here, not in this crowd."

VPOTUS and entourage then left the briefing room. He did not answer any questions despite efforts to engage him by reporters who were present.

Lunch lid to 1245

The press office has declared a lunch lid until 1245.

In-Town Note 6: POTUS taping remarks without pool

For your awareness, Karoline Leavitt has posted to X showing POTUS taping a response to Hamas accepting the peace deal he unveiled alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on Monday.

Pool was not notified and was not present for the taping, which appears to have been handled by the White House Communications Agency crew.
