Travel pool report 1 — motorcade holding

The pool is holding in vans at the back of the presidential motorcade outside his country club, Mar-a-Lago.

It is a lovely, a bit on the humid side, morning in Palm Beach.

Travel pool report 2 — motorcade underway

The motorcade left Mar-a-Lago at 0835, westbound in the direction of the president's golf course in West Palm Beach.

Travel pool report 3 — golf

The president's motorcade turned into the driveway for his golf course in West Palm Beach at 0843.

Your pooler noticed neither supporters nor protesters along a closed-off Southern Boulevard during the short drive.

This is the president's 29th day at West Palm Beach course adjacent to the county jail and 82nd on one of the courses he owns since returning to office.

It is his 16th trip to Mar-a-Lago.

Pool is holding at the county library across the street.

Travel pool report 4 — back in vans

Pool has moved back into the press vans to await the president's departure from his golf course.

Travel pool report 5 — statement re DC shooting

From the WH press office:

"The White House is aware and actively monitoring this tragic situation. The President has been briefed." -Karoline Leavitt, WH Press Secretary

Travel pool report 6 — motorcade moving

The president's motorcade was underway from his golf course at 1507.

He was at his course for just over six hours.

Travel pool report 7 — back at Mar-a-Lago

The president's motorcade turned back into the driveway at his country club residence at 1516.

The ride from his golf course was uneventful through streets closed to other traffic.

Again no protesters, no supporters visible.

The WH announced a travel photo lid for the day at 1625.

The president announced on his social media platform at 2105 that he would have remarks about the shooting 10 min later.

Travel pool report 9a — pool not advised re remarks

A clarification about the video this evening on the WH web site:

The travel pool was not advised about the remarks that were streamed on the White House YouTube site, neither before, nor after.

No members of the pool were present during their broadcast or taping. That was not the pool camera used.

Pool has no information about the remarks beyond what the president posted on his social media platform.
