Good morning all,

I will be your print pooler for today. We have just been informed that POTUS will be speaking to reporters in the briefing room at 11.30am.

In town pool note #2 - Two minute warning for POTUS briefing

Two minute warning was given at 11.47am. The briefing will be live-streamed at https://www.whitehouse.gov/live/

In town pool note #3 - POTUS starts speaking

POTUS entered the briefing room at 11.48a and began to speak by hailing the Supreme Court's ruling on nationwide injunctions and birthright citizenship.

In town pool note #4 - POTUS hands over to Pam Bondi, AG

POTUS ended his opening remarks by thanking the Supreme Court for the ruling then handed over the podium to Pam Bondi, the attorney general. 

"Americans are finally getting what they voted for. No longer will we have rogue judges striking down President Trump's policies across the entire nation," she said.

In town pool note #5 - POTUS on trade

POTUS said the US was in the "process" of making deals with some countries on trade ahead of a July 9 deadline before tariffs increase, but he said that other countries would be receiving a letter outlining the tariffs they would face. "We're just going to tell them what they have to pay," POTUS said.

In town pool note #6 - POTUS on tax bill deadline

POTUS said the July 4 deadline was "important" but "not the end-all". When asked about Senator Ron Johnson's warning that he might need more time to get on board, he responded that he was a "good man" .

In town pool note #7 - POTUS on Iran

POTUS was asked if he would consider bombing Iran's nuclear facilities if Tehran was enriching uranium to a level that concerned the US. "Sure, without question, absolutely" he responded.

POTUS walked out of the briefing room and ended his remarks at 12.43pm.

In town pool note #9 - Pool gathers

Pool is gathering for the 3pm Oval Office event with POTUS and the foreign ministers of the DRC and Rwanda

In Town Pool note #10 - pool enters Oval Office

The Pool entered the Oval Office at 4.04pm for an event on the signing of the peace deal between DRC and Rwanda , which is being hosted by the US . 

The event is being livestreamed on Wh.gov and the White House YouTube channel.

In town pool note #11 - POTUS oval event begins

POTUS was seated at the Resolute Desk with Vice- President JD Vance and secretary of state Marco Rubio standing behind him . The foreign ministers of Rwanda and the DRC were in attendance . POTUS congratulated the officials of the two countries for signing the agreement as well as Massad Boulos , his senior adviser on the peace deal . "This is a tremendous breakthrough," POTUS said .

He then said he had "successful" trip to Nato , noting that Nato had "really pulled together". POTUS then spoke about the US strike on Iran. "We ended up with no nuclear weapons. That's what we wanted , " he said .

In town pool report #12 - Gaza ceasefire timing

POTUS said that he believed  "within the next week" there would be a ceasefire in Gaza . "We're working on Gaza and trying to get it taken care of "

In town pool report #13 - POTUS on Iran, Canada, Fed

POTUS said the Iranians wanted to "meet" him and he would "do that quickly" . " The last thing they are thinking about now" is enriching uranium.

On the move to cut off talks on trade with Canada  because of their digital tax, he said . 

"Economically we have such power over Canada, I'd rather not use it" 

When asked if Jay Powell should resign as Fed chair POTUS said he would "love" for Powell to "resign if he wanted to" . He said Powell was a "stubborn mule" for not cutting interest rates.
