White House pool report #11 POTUS addressed his audience from the balcony overlooking the South Lawn, where military families had a picnic. A flyover took place as Trump walked out, as more military planes flew North to South over the White House as the National Anthem was sung. POTUS praised the flyover calling one a "big beautiful plane." He praised the military saying that it is one of the most sought after jobs. POTUS says members of the Senate and House are present. Poolers can't see them from where we're standing. He mentioned Johnson, Thune, Emmer, Crapo, Barrasso, Scalise, among others. 150 airmen and their families are in attendance from Whiteman AFB in Missouri. They participated in Operation Midnight Hammer. He also spoke about the One Big Beautiful Bill. We believe the bill was signed around 5:46 p.m. but the pool was held back from view. Cheers went up then. For color: tables were set out for military families. Some had white table cloths. Other had red and white checkered table cloths. Potter flowers sat in the middle of each. Many of the families came forward to listen to POTUS speak. Others watched from their seats. |

Travel Pool Report # 6 More AF1 Gaggle Highlights Huge thanks To AFP's Danny Kemp and Washington Post's Cat Zakrzewski for help with these transcriptions Tariff highlights Q: Did you sign letters related to trade? Trump: "I did. I signed some letters and they'll go out on Monday, probably 12." "12 different well, different amounts of money, different amounts of tariffs and somewhat different statements." Which countries will receive those letters on Monday? "It will be announced. I have to announce it on Monday." Q: Do you expect any trade deals this weekend to be signed? "Yeah, I do. I'll probably send out 10 or 12 letters." Q: in addition to the letters, do you think you'll be able to reach deals with the European Union or India? "I think that letters are better for us. I've said that all along. You have hundreds of countries." "I think a simple tariff is simpler than, better than sitting down and working 15 different things. you know, with the UK, we did that. and it was great for both parties. With China, we did that, and I think it's very good for both parties. We have India coming up and with Vietnam, we did it, but much easier to send a letter saying, 'Listen we know we have a certain deficit, or in some cases a surplus, but not too many. And if this is what you have to pay if you wanna do business to the United States." |
