In-town note 1: House GOP meetings

Good morning from the White House on this cloudy and muggy day, where the president's public schedule remains free of any public events.

Privately, he is expected to meet with House Republicans as they continue to work on getting his Big Beautiful Bill passed before July 4.

Thus far your pooler's intrepid photographer colleagues have spotted Rep. Mike Lawler of New York entering the West Wing, plus one or two who were not immediately recognized.

Speaker Johnson is rumored to be among those who will be visiting today but he has not yet been spotted by your pooler or his eagle-eyed, long-lensed compatriots.

I shall be inquiring as to the identities of any lawmakers meeting with POTUS and will dutifully report back to you on any response.
