Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Nomination of John P. Lewis for the Rank of Minister While Serving as Chairman of the Development Assistance Committee.

The President today announced that he will nominate John P. Lewis, of Princeton, N.J., for the rank of Minister during his service as Chairman of the Development Assistance Committee of the U.S. Mission to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Lewis, 57, has been Chairman of the Committee since 1978. He was a professor of economics and international affairs at Princeton University from 1969 to 1978 and has also served on the faculty of Indiana University. From 1964 to 1969, he was Minister-Director of the USAID Mission to India.
