Nomination of Kevin E. Moley To Be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services

The President today announced his intention to nominate Kevin E. Moley, of Louisiana, to be Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services. He would succeed Constance Horner.

Since 1989, Mr. Moley has served as Assistant Secretary for Management and Budget at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to this, he served with the Health Care Financing Administration's Office of Prepaid Health Care at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as Director, 1986 - 1988, and Confidential Assistant to the Administrator, and then Acting Administrator of Operations, 1984 - 1986. Mr. Moley also served as a district group manager for CNA Insurance Co. of Chicago and for the New England Life Insurance Co. in marketing and underwriting management positions.

Mr. Moley served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1965 - 1971. He was born November 7, 1946, in New York, NY. Mr. Moley is married, has one child, and resides in McLean, VA.
