Nomination of Jacqueline E. Schafer To Be a Member of the Council on Environmental Quality

The President today announced his intention to nominate Jacqueline E. Schafer to be a member of the Council on Environmental Quality. She would succeed Nancy A. Maloley.

Ms. Schafer is currently Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region II, in New York, NY.' Previously, she was a professional staff member, U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (1977-1982); legislative assistant to U.S. Senator James L. Buckley (1971-1976); and analyst, Banking Studies Department, and research assistant, Research Department., Federal Reserve Bank of New York (1967-1970).

Ms. Schafer graduated from Middlebury College (A.B., 1967). She resides in New York, NY, and was born October 12, 1945, in Greenport, NY.
