Nomination of Carol G. Dawson To Be a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission

The President today announced his intention to nominate Carol G. Dawson to be a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for a term of 7 years from October 27, 1985. This is a reappointment.

Since 1984 Ms. Dawson has been serving as a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Previously, she was Deputy Special Assistant to the Secretary of Energy (1982-1984); Deputy Press Secretary at the Department of Energy (1981-1982); senior staff assistant on the Reagan-Bush transition team (1980-1981); a real estate sales associate with Latham Realtors (1977-1980); and a freelance writer (1972-1977).

She graduated from Dunbarton College (B.A., 1959). She has four children and resides in Oakton, VA. She was born September 8, 1937, in Indianapolis, IN.
