Nomination of B. Robert Okun To Be an Assistant Secretary of Education

The President has nominated B. Robert Okun, of the District of Columbia, to be Assistant Secretary for Legislation and Congressional Affairs at the United States Department of Education. He would succeed Nancy Mohr Kennedy.

Currently Mr. Okun serves as a consultant for the United States Department of Education in Washington, DC. Prior to this he served as executive director of the House Republican Conference, 1989 - 1991.

Mr. Okun graduated from Duke University (A.B., 1981). He was born October 24, 1959, in Glen Cove, NY. Mr. Okun is married and resides in Washington, DC.
