ICYMI: NEW Poll from Yahoo News/YouGov Shows Sweeping Support for the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022

August 03, 2022

A new Yahoo News/YouGov survey found that Americans favor — by wide margins — each major component of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The poll found:

  • 61% of voters favor lowering the cost of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices for the first time while capping out-of-pocket costs at $2,000 a year
  • 53% of Americans favor raising $451 billion over the next decade by requiring large corporations to pay the taxes they owe, while setting aside $300 billion for deficit reduction
  • Independents support each element of the Inflation Reduction Act by the same wide margins as Americans overall
  • A plurality of Republicans favor (47%) rather than oppose (27%) its prescription-drug reforms.

The Yahoo News/YouGov poll is yet another poll that makes clear that the vast majority of Americans support the major provisions of Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.
