Haley Campaign Press Release - Haley Will Defeat the China Fentanyl Threat

August 01, 2023

CHARLESTON, S.C. – This afternoon, Nikki Haley for President released a video highlighting Haley's fight against the growing fentanyl crisis and her plan to crack down on China.

Last week, Haley hosted a community discussion on China's role in the fentanyl crisis and her plan to stand up to the Chinese Communist Party. In June, Haley sat down with local law enforcement officers to discuss how the fentanyl crisis is impacting our men and women in blue.

Haley has proposed a comprehensive plan to combat China that includes three prongs:

  • Economically: Make sure China isn't using our economy to benefit its military and end the export of sensitive technology to Beijing.

  • Militarily: Build up our military and strengthen ties with Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, and the Philippines. Arm Taiwan with what it needs to defend itself while making sure American naval presence in the Taiwan Strait remains strong.

  • Domestically: Eliminate Chinese propaganda and influence from our schools and government, and end normal trade relations if China doesn't stop the flow of fentanyl that is killing thousands of Americans.

What people are saying about Haley's China plan:

The State: "Nikki Haley, has been the most vocal on China and military policies in comparison to other candidates, and her experience as U.N. ambassador under Trump has led her to use the topic as a defining aspect of her campaign." (The State, 7/28/23)

Fox Business' Stuart Varney: "You are the only Republican candidate who claims a China plan." (Fox Business, 7/24/23)

Fox Business' Charles Payne: "You have been talking really tough about China. And I will tell the audience you have a strong record on being tough against China." (Fox Business, 7/21/23)
