CHARLESTON, S.C. — Presidential candidate Nikki Haley called on Donald Trump to pay the law enforcement members providing security at his event in Derry, New Hampshire today. According to a recent news report, Trump routinely stiffs law enforcement officers who provide security at his campaign events.
The Trump campaign owes $3,788 to law enforcement in Concord, N.H. and $12,870 in Manchester, N.H. If Trump refuses to pay, the cost will be borne by hardworking New Hampshire taxpayers.
In contrast, the article continues, the Haley campaign has paid police departments across New Hampshire: "The Haley campaign paid $1,722 total to six New Hampshire police departments throughout July and August."
"The Trump campaign has more than enough money to reimburse police for providing security at the few events he holds," said Haley spokesperson Ken Farnaso. "It's ridiculous to stiff law enforcement and ultimately stick taxpayers with the bill. Nikki Haley wants to make sure police and their families are paid. Apparently, Donald Trump doesn't care."
