Haley Campaign Press Release - Haley at S.C. Ballot Filing: "Let's Do This"

October 30, 2023

COLUMBIA, S.C. – This morning, presidential candidate Nikki Haley officially filed for the primary ballot in her home state of South Carolina. Her filing coincides with a surge of support across the country, most notably in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

A new Des Moines Register/NBC News poll shows Haley in second place in Iowa. Haley is also in second place in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Watch Nikki Haley's remarks here.

"As a girl who was blessed to serve the state that raised me and now honored to be running for president of the United States for the country I love so much, I say with great love and gratitude to a husband who is deployed overseas, who knows how much this day means to me, to two children who continue to hold the fort for our family and keep us all tight, I will tell you South Carolina has been my family.

"And now we look at a country that needs saving. Our country is hurting... The world is on fire. We see a war in Europe, we see a war in the Middle East, you've got China on the march, and America is retreating. That's not how you win. A strong America doesn't start wars, a strong America prevents wars. And we have to start being a strong and proud America again. We did it starting in South Carolina, we're going to finish it at the Oval Office."
