Haley Campaign Press Release - Haley On Raimondo's Trip To China: Less Talk, More Action

August 29, 2023

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Presidential candidate Nikki Haley condemned Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's weakness on China during yet another Biden administration pilgrimage to Beijing.

Raimondo is the fourth Biden administration official to go to China in recent months in a foolish attempt to make nice with the communist regime. Instead of holding China accountable or achieving real concessions, Raimondo is boasting about a U.S.-China "working group" and an agreement to hold a tourism summit.

"The time for polite talk is over," Haley said. "It's time to demand action from China. Stop killing Americans with fentanyl. Stop targeting American companies. Stop hacking the U.S. government. Stop stealing American innovations to build up the Chinese military. Stop buying our farmland and stealing our seed technology.

"It's also time for America to take decisive action to show China we're serious. Ban TikTok. Ban all U.S. investment in Chinese companies that help the Chinese military. ??End normal trade relations until China stops fueling our fentanyl crisis. And stop sending administration officials to China unless they have the guts to stand up for America and hold Beijing accountable."
