CHARLESTON, S.C. — Presidential candidate Nikki Haley is earning praise for her foresight and toughness on Hamas. Haley recently called out the Arab countries for refusing to take in Palestinian refugees, opposed any effort to send Gazans to America, and reminded the world that she has been warning about Hamas for more than five years.
Haley Calls Out Arab Countries for Refusing to Take Palestinian Refugees
In her Sunday interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, Haley called out Arab countries for refusing to take in Palestinian refugees from Gaza: "Where are the Arab countries? Where are they? Where is Qatar? Where is Lebanon? Where is Jordan? Where is Egypt? Why aren't they taking the Palestinians? You know why? Because they know they can't vet them, and they don't want Hamas in their neighborhood."
North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer praised Haley, saying, "I'd be hard-pressed to improve on anything Nikki Haley says on this topic and many other geopolitical topics... I agree with her 100%."
The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro said: "When Nikki Haley says, 'where are the Arab countries' helping their brothers, helping their compatriots? The answer is they've been used as tools by a lot of these countries. They've been used as weapons against the state of Israel... Here was Nikki Haley properly pointing out that the Arab world has gone completely absent on this question."
Haley Opposes America Taking in Gazans
RealClearPolitics' Philip Wegmann: NEWS: A spokesman for @NikkiHaley tells RCP the ambassador "opposes the U.S. taking in Gazans." Haley instead believes that "Hamas-supporting countries like Iran, Qatar, and Turkey should take any refugees."
Guy Benson: A note from me: My radio show account has deleted a tweet stating that Nikki Haley 'proposed' settling Gazan refugees in the US, which was not a fair characterization.
Haley Warned of Hamas Massacre
Five years ago, Haley warned the UN Security Council that Hamas terrorists would target Israeli civilians if they ever breached the Gaza border security fence. Fox Business' Stuart Varney called Haley's warning "prescient" and Fox News' Adam Shaw highlighted Haley's efforts to push the UN to label Hamas a terrorist group in 2018.
