Executive Order 8852—Transferring the United States Coast Guard for the District of Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, Together With Its Organization, Personnel, and Equipment, to the Service and Jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Navy

August 16, 1941

By virtue of the authority vested in me by the act of January 28, 1915, 38 Stat. 800 (U.S.C., title 14, sec. 1), the United States Coast Guard for the District of Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, together with its organization, personnel, and equipment, is hereby transferred from the service and jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Treasury to the service and jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Navy, to operate as a party of the Navy and subject to the control thereof during the unlimited national emergency proclaimed by me on May 27, 1941.
