Executive Order 8690—Exemption of John M. Terwilliger From Compulsory Retirement for Age

February 19, 1941

Whereas, in my judgment, the public interest requires that John M. Terwilliger, chief clerk, Office of the Collector of Internal Revenue, Detroit, Michigan, Treasury Department, who was exempted from compulsory retirement for age for a period of one year by Executive Order No. 8322 of January 15, 1940, be further exempted from such compulsory retirement for a period of one year:

Now, Therefore, by virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 204 of the act of June 30, 1932, 47 Stat. 382, 404 (U.S.C., title 5, sec. 715a), I hereby further exempt the said John M. Terwilliger from compulsory retirement for age for a period of one year ending February 28, 1942.
