Executive Order 8653—Authorizing the Appointment of Mrs. Florence Bankhead as Chief, National Memorials and Historic Sites Section, National Park Service, Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth of subdivision SECOND of section 2 of the Civil Service Act of January 16, 1883 (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Florence Bankhead of Alabama, may be appointed as Chief, National Memorials and Historic Sites Section, National Park Service, Department of the Interior, without compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Rules.
