Executive Order 8542—Authorizing the Appointment of Harold Ambrose to a Classified Position in the Post Office Department Without Regard to the Civil Service Rules

September 18, 1940

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth of subdivision SECOND of section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Harold Ambrose, who, since June 12, 1933, has been serving in a position in the Post Office Department excepted from civil service requirements, may be appointed to a classified position in the Post Office Department without compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Rules.
