Executive Order 8535—Amending the Foreign Service Regulations of the United States
By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 1752 of the Revised Statutes of the United States (22 U.S.C. 132), and the act of May 22, 1918, 40 Stat. 559 (22 U.S.C. 223-226), as extended by the act of March 2, 1921, 41 Stat. 1217 (22 U.S.C. 227), it is ordered that Chapter XXII of the Foreign Service Regulations of the United States be, arid it is hereby, amended as follows:
1. The words ",except consular agents," shall be inserted between the words "Officers of the Foreign Service" and the words "shall familiarize themselves" in section XXII-1.
2. The words "Attorney General" shall be substituted for the words "Secretary of Labor" in section XXII-1.
