Executive Order 8235—Authorizing the Appointment of Mrs. Coey Custer Jones to a Classified Position in the Public Health Service, Federal Security Agency, Without Regard to the Civil Service Rules

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth, subdivision SECOND, section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Coey Custer Jones may be appointed to an appropriate classified position in the Public Health Service, Federal Security Agency, without compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service rules.

Mrs. Jones is the widow of Surgeon Roy R. Jones, a commissioned medical officer of the Public Health Service, who died on June 13, 1939, leaving his widow and three children without adequate means of continued support.

This order is recommended by the Surgeon General of the Public Health Service.
