Executive Order 7966—Establishing the Kentucky Woodlands Wildlife Refuge

August 30, 1938

KENTUCKY

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me as President of the United States, it is ordered that the lands acquired or to be acquired by the United States within the area delineated on the diagram attached hereto and made a part hereof, in Lyon and Trigg Counties, Kentucky, be, and they are hereby, reserved and set apart for the use of the Department of Agriculture, subject to valid existing rights, as a refuge and breeding ground for birds and other wildlife: Provided, That any private lands within such area shall become part of the refuge upon acquisition of title thereto or control thereof by the United States.

It is unlawful for any person to hunt, trap, capture, wilfully disturb, or kill any bird or wild animal of any kind whatsoever within the limits of this refuge, or to enter thereon, except under such rules and regulations as may be prescribed by the Secreta. y of Agriculture.

This reservation shall be known as the Kentucky Woodlands Wildlife Refuge.
