Executive Order 7919—Authorizing the Appointment of Mrs. Eleanor J. Townsend to a Classified Position in the Securities and Exchange Commission Without Regard to the Civil Service Rules

June 25, 1938

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth, subdivision SECOND, section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Eleanor J. Townsend may be appointed to a classified position in the Securities and Exchange Commission without compfiance with the requirements of the Civil Service rules.

This order is recommended by the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
