Executive Order 7905—Authorizing the Appointment of Mrs. Lucile Ensminger to a Classified Position in the Navy Department Without Regard to the Civil Service Rules

May 31, 1938

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth, subdivision SECOND, section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Lucile Ensminger may be appointed to a classified position in the Navy Department without compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Rules.

Mrs. Ensminger is the widow of Charles Lee Ensminger, Storekeeper, 1c, U.S.N., who met his death in line of duty on December 13, 1937 in the bombing and sinking of the U.S.S. Panay.

This order is issued upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Navy.
