Executive Order 7432—Authorizing the Appointment of Mrs. Gertrude Pullman Evans to a Classified Position in the Navy Department Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

August 18, 1936

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth, subdivision SECOND, section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Gertrude Pullman Evans may be appointed to a classified position in the Navy Department without compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Rules.

Mrs. Evans is the widow of Captain Franck Taylor Evans, U.S. Navy, who died on March 4, 1933, leaving his widow without adequate means of continued support.
