Executive Order 6262—Amendments to Regulations Governing Foreign Service Accounting

August 29, 1933

Section 565½ is established in the Consular Regulations as follows:

565½. When fees may be remitted in full.—The Secretary of State may waive, in his discretion, the requirements of sections 564 and 565 and other parts of the Regulations consistent therewith, and may authorize the remission to the Department of State by draft payable to the Treasurer of the United States of the full amount of fees collected. The Secretary of State also may authorize the payment of salaries and allowances by individual drafts on the Secretary of State to the order of employees. Drafts for other expenses will be drawn in such manner as the Secretary of State may direct consistently with law.

The reference at the end of section 564 of the Consular Regulations is amended to read: "(See last paragraph of sec. 565, and sec. 565½.)."

The following parenthetical reference is added to the second paragraph of section 565: "(See sec. 565½.)."

The second paragraph of section 20, chapter XX, Instructions to Diplomatic Officers, is amended by adding: "(See sec. 565½ of the Consular Regulations.)."
