Executive Order 5242—Designating Clarence M. Young as Acting Secretary of Commerce Under Certain Conditions

Pursuant to the authority contained in Section 179 of the Revised Statutes, I hereby authorize and direct Clarence M. Young, Assistant Secretary of Commerce, appointed under the authority of the act of May 20, 1926, to perform the duties of the Secretary of Commerce during the absence of the Secretary of Commerce, and the Assistant Secretary of Commerce appointed under the act of February 14, 1903, as amended by the act of March 4, 1913.
