Executive Order 5131—Authorizing the Appointment of George Henry Malone Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

May 31, 1929

Mr. George Henry Malone, yeoman, 1st class, U.S. Navy, may be appointed to the position of supervising clerk, Office of the Captain of the Yard, Naval Station, Cavite, P.I., to fill an existing vacancy, without regard to the Civil Service Act or Rules.

This action is taken in view of the inability of the U. S. Civil Service Commission to supply local American eligibles thru the Philippine Civil Service Bureau. The Bureau of Navigation, Navy Department, will direct his discharge from the Navy.

This Order is issued upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Navy.
