Executive Order 5064—Authorizing the Appointment of Elizabeth Gibson Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

February 28, 1929

Miss Elizabeth Gibson may be employed as a clerk or typist under the Navy Department or Naval Establishment without regard to the Civil Service Act or Rules.

This Order is issued upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Navy. Miss Gibson's father who died on May 10, 1911, was a Rear Admiral in the United States Navy and served both in the Civil War and the Spanish-American War. The Civil Service Commission is unable to concur in this recommendation.
