Executive Order 5019—Authorizing the Appointment of Mildred Brown McIntosh Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

January 02, 1929

Mrs. Mildred Brown McIntosh may be appointed typewriter at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, without regard to the civil service rules. She is the widow of Chief Aviation Pilot Enoch B. McIntosh, United States Navy, who met his death in line of duty at Corry Field, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, on November 2, 1928.

This order is issued upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Navy. The Civil Service Commission can recommend waivers of the rules to permit appointment only when demanded by the interests of the service, and therefore is unable to concur.
