Executive Order 10518—Inspection of Returns by the Special Committee of the House of Representatives Authorized by House Resolution 217, 83d Congress, to Investigate Tax-Exempt Foundations

By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 55 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code (53 Stat. 29; 54 Stat. 1008; 55 Stat. 722; 26 U.S.C. 55 (a)), I hereby order that any return on Form 990—A made by an organization exempt from tax under section 101 (6) of the said Code (53 Stat. 33; 64 Stat. 959; 26 U.S.C. 101 (6)), for the years 1950 to 1953, inclusive, shall, until and including January 3, 1955, be open to inspection by the special committee of the House of Representatives authorized by House Resolution 217, 83d Congress, agreed to July 27, 1953, to investigate tax-exempt foundations, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of such resolution, subject to the conditions stated in the Treasury decision' relating to the inspection of returns by certain committees of the Congress, approved by me this date.

This order shall become effective upon its filing for publication in the FEDERAL
